OnSide Youth Zones Charity Donations

Whispering Smith made a pledge 2 years ago to donate £90,000 worth of clothing to OnSide Youth Zones over three years, in support of a very worthy cause. Last year was our second instalment of socks, hats, coats, scarves and childrenswear donated to the youth zones in Bolton, Chorley and Wigan. These are to be distributed across ten centres in the Midlands and the North of England.

The OnSide Youth Zones charity was established in 2008, to help disadvantaged young people to gain access to opportunities that would not have previously been available to them. The charity provides safe spaces for young people aged between 8–19 years old (up to 25 for those with a disability) to learn, relax and make friends.

Bolton Lads and Girls Club was the first ever youth zone to be set up by the charity, with another fourteen centres being opened in deprived areas in the ten years that followed.

It is important to remember now more than ever that many families struggle to afford warm clothing when the cold weather hits. So, we could not be more pleased to carry out our promise and donate a wide range of clothing that can stop families worrying about clothing their children.

This year we donated £19,968.14 worth of stock to reach to our £90,000 pledge. We hope to be working with them again in the future.
